LinkedWords and its concept has no rules set nor does require the web publishers to use specific format of their hyper links, more specifically to use the _blank function in order to have the linked words opened in a new window. It is left to the sole discretion of the web publisher to determine the way their linked words should open.

As general practice the pop up windows are sometimes blocked by popular tool bars and browser add ons depending on user settings and preferences, which should be taken into consideration when creating your linked words.
